I have very few tunes in my bag that I got straight from paper.
This is one. It comes from Cole's "1000 Fiddle Tunes," which is
itself
a reprint of the 19th century book, "Ryan's Mammoth Collection."
I've never heard anyone else play it.
I tried it out purely because of the title -- I live in Michigan.
It's a good fiddle tune, though I like it better on the banjo. There is
one note that the book says is right, but I say is wrong, so I changed it.
Long live the folk process!
